New security features for Vision33 AWS Cloud Environments

The cloud team is pleased to announce the addition of several new security features to all cloud hosting solutions. This rollout reinforces Vision33’s commitment to delivering enterprise-grade security with our hosting packages and aligns us with industry best practices.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Vision33 has selected Cisco Duo for multi-factor authentication (MFA). Duo provides another layer of protection by requiring users to confirm they are who they say they are before gaining access to their account. The user must first enter their password and then validate who they are via one or more methods – the Duo authentication app, SMS text, or phone call.
This approach is aligned with industry best practices, will improve customer experience, add value to our offering, and reduce the volume of support tickets.
Password Management
Vision33 is implementing a new password management solution in all customer environments. The solution will:
- Enable Vision33 to establish a complex password policy (e.g. - 10 characters, one capital and lower-case letter, one number, and special characters).
- Enforce end-user compliance with the established policy
- Enable end users to reset their password (self-service password reset) (Presently, end users must submit a support ticket to have their password reset.)
- Automatically trigger password reset every 6 months (passwords expire)
- Prohibit passwords from being reused within the same 24-month window
- Lock users out for 30 minutes after 5 unsuccessful login attempts
What you need to know
- These features will be part of our standard cloud offering and included with all new Vision33 cloud implementations beginning this summer. They will not have a SKU and do not need to be quoted.
- The cost of these features will be baked into the customer’s monthly subscription costs.
- Existing customers won’t be charged for implementing these new features.
- Those renewing contracts should anticipate price increases, in part due to these new features.
- Sales can openly discuss these features with prospects. Customer-facing slides have been developed to communicate the new features. Feel free to share them with customers as you see fit.
What's Next?
- The roll-out process is still being defined.
- Once defined, the Vision33 cloud team will run point on customer outreach, scheduling, and implementation of the new features. You will be contacted if help is needed.
- Internal teams that are impacted by this roll-out will receive a second communication that outlines the process to ensure alignment with our customers.
- New marketing and enablement materials will be distributed internally when they are completed.
