Select an Environment

If you have the right access, logging in to Saltbox will take you to the landing page shown below.

If you see an access warning instead, contact your implementation consultant to request additional access. 

To select the environment you want to work in, open the environment dropdown at the top-right of the page. 

The environment dropdown will show two or four options, depending on the tenant subscription. 

Select the desired environment.

For a first-time project setup, we recommend the “Development” environment.

This is because projects can be promoted between environments, so development is good for the initial setup, testing, and approval before it's ready for production. 

The list of environments will vary based on your tenant’s subscription.

It will include either:

• Two environments – Production and Development 
• Four environments – Production, Staging, UAT (user-acceptance testing), and Development.

One additional option – “Other (Legacy)” – may be available where other environments were previously configured, but we don't recommend these for new projects.
