Assets Groups

Assets Groups allow you to organize your project assets. This hierarchical organization is displayed on the project assets page and is similar to folders, however, these are not actual folders so will not appear on the project files page.

Asset groups support the following functionality:

• Add an asset group
• Delete an asset group
• Move assets into an asset group
• Manage a group's asset assignments

Add an Asset Group

To add an asset group:

• Go to the Project Assets page. On the upper project navigation, go to Assets > Manage All, as shown below.
• 
• On the "Add" menu on the far right of the page toolbar (marker 1), select "Add Asset Group". This will launch the New Asset Group screen.
• 
• On the New Asset Group screen:
  • fill in the Group Name (marker 1).
  • Optionally assign a Parent Group (marker 2). If set, the new group will be nested within the selected group, otherwise, it's displayed at the project root. 
  • Optionally assign assets to this group using the Add Asset button (marker 3), or wait until the new group is displayed on the assets page, then drag-and-drop assets to the group.
  • Press the Save button (marker 4) when ready. The new Asset Group will be added to your project's assets list.

Delete an Asset Group

To delete an asset group:

• Go to the Project Assets page.
• Ensure all assigned assets are removed from the group.
  • Either: drag-and-drop each asset somewhere else
  • Or: edit the asset and press the "remove from group" (minus sign) button (marker 1 below)
  • 
• On the Assets page, expand the actions menu for the group (marker 1 below) and select Delete (marker 2)
• 
• Confirm that you wish to delete this group permanently.

Move Assets into an Asset Group

On the Project Assets page, you can manage which assets or other groups are assigned to a group using drag-and-drop:

• On the asset you wish to move, click and hold the grab handles on the far left of the asset name. See marker 1 below.
• 
• Drag the asset to the desired group. It will be added to the group, and sorted using the page's applied filters.

Manage an Asset Group's Asset Assignments

On the Edit Asset Group screen, you can add or remove assets. On the Project Assets page: 

• Press the Edit Asset button to the left of the asset group name. This will open the Edit Asset Group screen.
• To add an asset: press the Add Asset button, which will display a list of available assets. Select any desired assets.
• To remove an asset: press the Remove from Group button (minus sign) on the far right of the Assets Assigned to this Group list.
• Save to apply changes.
