2025-05-21: Version 3.33 Weekly Maintenance Update

Early Access: Technical updates to the Engine to support more robust handling of missed schedules. This update will be released for all tenants on the week of May 26th.

 

Updates

  • Added "Group by ID" option to the messages page. This is useful when Friendly IDs occur multiple times, such as when multiple workflows process the same data, or if repeat friendly IDs may occur within a single workflow.
  • Added help links to "new project" and "asset groups" screens, and added tooltips to Visual Data Mapper options.
  • Added icons to "Add an asset" menu on the manage assets page.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Bug Fixed: Can't see assigned groups in the Edit Asset Group screen, can only see regular assets.
  • Usability Bug Fixed: Edit Asset Group screen "parent group" setting doesn't show the correct parent group.

2025-05-14: Version 3.33 Monthly Feature Update

New

  • Organize project assets using groups. This hierarchical organization is displayed on the project assets page and is similar to folders, however, these are not actual folders so will not appear on the project files page. A walkthrough of Asset Group functionality can be found on the help site.
  • Messages page improvements including:
    • Data Insights: At-a-glance insights provide a quick view into your message data.
    • Filtering: Filters are now automatically applied to both in-page data and related data insights and return results quickly.
    • Larger Data Sets: More data is loaded at once to provide a better foundation for data insights.
    • Data Groups: Data is now grouped by Project (at the tenant level), Workflow (at the project level) and Status, making it easier to see the information that's most relevant to you.
    • Usability updates have also been applied, including:
      • Export as Excel or CSV.
      • "Go to workflow design" from any message type.
      • Filter by environment using the global environment picker.
    • A messages page feature walkthrough can be found on the help site.
  • Express Connect Assistant helps get your data flowing quickly. Under the Projects menu, press the + button to launch the Express Connect Assistant. Key features include:
    • Select from available templates that support common business scenarios.
    • Set up Connector Configs in the assistant as prompted. Configs may continue to be accessed from the Project Settings page after installation.

The following features have been moved from "early release" into general release: 

  • Certain Connectors can launch their own apps. When a supported connector is installed, "Connector App Screens" are available in project assets.
  • Generate schemas for triggers or actions without running the workflow, which can be used during Visual Data Mapper setup. Use the "Generate Schema" button on the trigger details pane or action details pane, and a sample file will be created in your workflow files.
  • Manage access to your tenant, including all consultants. Add or remove consultant access via the Users page (Settings menu), and view audit logs to see who has accessed your tenant over time via the User Login Audit page (Settings menu - System Information sub-menu).
  • Manage access to projects using the new project-oriented access page via the Access page (Settings menu), or via the Project Settings page in the new User Access section. This replaces the former Manage Groups page.
  • Use the "Stagger the scheduled start time" option to offset your workflow's start time. This option helps to avoid overlaps in similarly-scheduled triggers that use the same resource. For example, development verses production workflows that connect to the same SFTP host to download files. 

2025-04-23: Version 3.32 Maintenance Update

New

  • Early Access: Added insights and enhanced the performance and layout of the messages page.

Updates

  • Usability Update: Clarified error message due to duplicate label values when importing a file into a project.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Bug Fixed: Fixed an issue affecting Vision33 users who access SXP via single sign-on (SSO).
    • Users were prompted to re-authenticate multi-factor authentication codes (even if "remember this device" was enabled). Some users could not navigate outside of SXP until they logged out and back in.

  • Bug Fixed: Resolved an error on the Add New Workflow Assistant that occurred when selecting a workflow from a template.

2025-04-10: Version 3.32 Monthly Feature Update

New

  • Early Access: New Project Wizard has been updated to include a more streamlined project setup flow.
    • Import from a template directly from the New Project Wizard.
    • Update Connection Configs in a one-stop prompt for all configs imported from the template.
  • Early Access: Embed form signatures and other message-provided images into Doc Designer. 
    • In Doc Designer, launch the "Insert Image" screen, then select "From a Message or Variable". Choose a variable whose data is a base64 image string. When the workflow executes, that image will be embedded in the document dynamically, based on the message data.
  • Early Access: Missed schedules will be detected. This requires an engine update to version 3.32.

 

Early access features can be added to a tenant upon request.

 

Usability Updates

  • New date filter options have been added to the Messages page to support: last hour, last 24 hours, last 7 days, last 30 days, and custom date ranges.
  • Refreshed the "upload file" dialogs in project files page and workflow files page.
  • Layout updates related to button sizes and split buttons color scheme.

2025-02-26: Version 3.31 Monthly Feature Update

New

  • A new "Project Live Status Update" event type is available on the Audit Trail page. This tracks changes to a project's "Is Live" status, including who made the change and when.
  • .sql files can be uploaded to workflow files.
  • Users with project access who are also in the Tenant Admins group can now launch the app host statistics screen from the project settings page.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Bug Fixed: Can't "jump to failure" on message trace page.

  • Bug Fixed: In Visual Data Mapper, after removing a function mapping, users can no longer assign other mappings to a field.

  • Usability Bug Fixed: Can't sort Name or Description on the project assets page.

  • Usability Bug Fixed: Disabled buttons on the System Analytics page appear clickable.

  • Usability Bug Fixed: Wrong title when copying a URL link asset on the project assets page.

2025-02-19: Version 3.30 Weekly Maintenance Update

  • Bug Fixed: Can't fill in user-defined connector config name using variables due to too short field size.

2025-02-05: Version 3.30 Weekly Maintenance Update

  • Bug Fixed: In Visual Data Mapper, when applying any conditions, this causes an error when selecting to an unmapped target field.

2025-01-29: Version 3.30 Weekly Maintenance Update

New: Use the new "Iteration Function" map type to apply iteration counts within Visual Data Mapper collections.

  • Retry a failed message from the message trace screen.
  • View "run workflow" audit details for user-initiated workflow executions on the tenant-level or project-level Audit Trail page.
    • This audit info does not include scheduled workflow triggers or API events, only workflow executions that were user-initiated using the 'run' button.
  • Add a "Blank" target to Visual Data Maps.
    • This will create an empty target that must be updated with new nodes manually or copied from the source.

 

Updates

  • Project and workflow variables include the following usability updates:
    • Variable names cannot be edited once they are saved.
    • When deleting a variable, a warning will be displayed to make the user aware of what the variable deletion will impact.
    • Buttons and layout were updated to the latest UI standards to improve usability.

  • Bug Fixed: Workflow incorrectly reports "Success" when a "Route the Workflow" action actually fails to initiate a workflow execution.
  • Bug Fixed: Users can skip the confirmation when deleting URL links from the assets page.

2024-01-24 - Version 3.21 Monthly Update

Feature release that includes Error Code Categories on the messages page and bug fixes.

 

New Feature: Error Code Categories were added to help more quickly identify the nature of workflow failures. This feature requires engine version 3.21, which is in limited release.

 

Error Code Categories include:

  • Authorization - Incorrect username or password; insufficient access with an otherwise correct username/password; etc.
  • Connectivity - System outage; incorrect server URL or IP address; etc.
  • Connector Technical Errors - For example, when an action or workflow trigger encounters a logical issue that requires a bug fix, or when the connector needs to be updated to move an unclassified data or business exception into that category.
  • Data or Business Exceptions - For example, when an action or workflow trigger encounters an issue from the third-party vendor that needs a user to review and resolve the issue in the data itself, or within the workflow design.
  • Technical Issues - These may be intermittent technical issues or system issues not directly related to the Connector.
  • Visual Data Mapper - Data format validation issues within a map; mapping failures that require review/revision; etc.
  • Workflow Design Issues - Specified variables can't be resolved due to workflow logic; etc.

 

Other feature highlights include:

  • Messages page now displays error code categories and error codes.
    • These columns can now also be filtered.
  • Messages page actions have been made easier to use with a context-aware quick-action button.
    • Users may continue to use the actions menu to choose all other actions for a message.
  • Message Trace now displays an action's error code category upon failure.
  • Workflow failure emails now include the error code category among the error details.

 

Update

  • Tenant Analytics page has been updated with new 1-month and 6-month views that support more interactive data exploration.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Users can't open XSLT directly from Workflow Designer; they have to select the file manually from the file viewer.
  • Can't add new groups to the Assets page "Manage Shares" wizard.
  • Labels were added to date pickers on the Messages page and API Gateway Settings page.
  • Alignment issues.

2023-12-13 - Version 3.20 Weekly Maintenance Update 

Usability Update

  • Open maps in a new browser tab if desired.
    • In Workflow Designer, the map button's menu expanded to open in a new tab or continue to use the button to open the map in the current tab.

This feature release includes advanced options for the import project wizard, more details on the workflow message trace, and others.

  • Advanced "overwrite" options were added to the import project wizard.
    • Now, users can choose which settings are or are not overwritten upon import from a template, file, or environment.

  • Workflow Message Trace page shows variable details in action filters.
  • Manage User page's "last login" details now reflect logins to the current tenant only.
  • Improved security around passwords for connector configs as per security best practices.

2023-10-19 - Version 3.19 Monthly Update

This feature release includes support for auto-loading Visual Data Mapper sources, viewing variables on message trace, usability updates, and bug fixes.

 

New Features

  • Automatically load sources in Visual Data Mapper using previous workflow executions.
    • Easily create new mappings.
    • Fire an update manually or allow Saltbox to automatically do so whenever Visual Data Mapper is edited.
    • To enable auto-updates for existing workflow maps, go to Workflow Settings > Message Processing Settings > Other Options and enable "Allow map sources to be updated automatically when the map page is loaded".
      • New workflows will enable this setting going forward, but existing workflows can opt in using the toggle.
  • View output variables in Message Trace for successfully executed actions. Expand the "Action Results" section. If any output variables apply to this action, they will be listed at the end of the "Action Results" section.

 

Usability Updates

  • Visual Data Mapper spacing and icon updates to help with readability.
  • Visual Data Mapper setting for "Map Type" has been moved to the top of the tab.
  • Workflow Designer "Move an Action" feature has been simplified.
    • Use the grab handles to move an action or branch within the workflow.
  • Message Trace now displays a "settings" icon instead of an "edit" icon to reflect that this section is read-only.
  • Added snappy animations to drop-downs, accordions, etc.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Bug Fixed: Copy/paste of an action that uses a "user-defined" map name or inside a "for each" loop is incorrectly shown in the conflict resolution dialog (69282 69430).
  • Bug Fixed: Can't change "Last Run Date" due to incorrect validation error (69410).
  • Bug Fixed: Workflow Designer option to "create an output message" sometimes doesn't display the new option in the list until the page is refreshed (69436).
  • Bug Fixed: Renaming a workflow sometimes causes issues in the trigger (66512).
    • This fix applies to previously renamed workflows and any workflow that will be renamed in the future.

2023-10-11 - Version 3.18 Weekly Maintenance Update

Updates

  • Visual Data Mapper function mappings can be configured to use either GMT or the configured project time zone.
    • This update requires the latest Saltbox Core Connector version 11.23.0.
  • Usability updates have been applied to several pages to handle long project names, alphabetical asset sorting, and UI consistency.

2023-09-27 - Version 3.18 Weekly Maintenance Update

  • Usability Update: Error notification email has been updated to make it clearer why the failure occurred.
    • This update is in early release and requires the latest engine version 3.18.
    • This update will be generally available on the week of October 9th.

2023-09-14 - Version 3.18 Monthly Update

This Saltbox feature release includes several quality-of-life improvements.

 

Updates

  • Visual Data Mapper functions now support dynamic (user-configured) selection of connection configs.
  • Email Notification Settings at the workflow level can now use a configured project variable.
  • Usability Updates, including:
    • Message Details screens have been updated to make them easier to read. Logs are now displayed on a separate tab from the message's high-level summary.
    • Assets page is much quicker to load, and data can now be exported to CSV or Excel.
    • Ability to easily multi-select all/none within project import screens.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Bug Fixed (Pre-Release): Engine status isn't in sync when updates are made.
    • Users have to press the refresh button but shouldn't have to (67247 67063).
    • This fix is in pre-release this week (for select customers) and will be fully released with next week's update. To get access to this fix early, contact your implementation consultant.
  • Bug Fixed: Visual Data Mapper "copy and auto-map" functionality doesn't work as expected when the target is a data set (68403).
  • Bug Fixed: An error appears on the dashboard before seeing the company selection screen (68512).
  • Bug Fixed: Error while trying to import a project from a file: "HttpRequestException message 'Response status code does not indicate success: 500 (Internal Server Error)'" (68045).
