Resources Setup
Saltbox Experience Platform uses SAP Business One resources to plan your production schedule.
You must create resources in SAP Business One that mimic your production processes and enter them on the appropriate bill of materials (BOM).
Note the predecessor field on the right. This is a user-defined field (UDF) used by the production scheduler to "link" operations and signify that the "predecessor" resource must be completed before this operation. In the screenshot above, it links to the "Mixer 1" resource, which means the Mixer 1 operation usually must be completed before this resource (packing) can be completed.
In the user-defined table (UDT) called "V33_Resources", you'll enter a record for each resource in use with its daily start and end times and its max capacity (entered as a whole number).
Once the resources have working times, create a production order based on your BOM with resources in SAP Business One.
You should now be able to open the production scheduler from Saltbox Experience Platform.
Check the "Unplanned Orders" window and see the production operations you have ready for planning.
You can toggle the sidebar (using the button highlighted below) to go to a full-screen view for more order information.
In this example, you'll see that 564-7 has a predecessor of 654-4.
You can select all the orders, a subset of orders, or a single operation and add them to the calendar. However, if operations are linked through the predecessor field, adding one to the calendar will automatically bring all related operations.
In this example, we chose 564-4 and dragged it to the calendar; 564-7 came automatically.
Once you've planned your desired operations in the Production Scheduler, save them.
Within moments of saving, the data will be written back to UDFs on the production order in SAP Business One for the planned start and end dates and times.
